Why do People Love Fishing

Ah, the joys of being out on a nice, quiet lake; your boat silently rocking back and forth, your cast line causing a few tiny ripples, and your mind drifting off as you wait for something to bite. Indeed, recreational fishing has been a favorite sport by many Americans for centuries, so much so that people would hire fishing charters to get them to some of the best spots in the local lakes. Why do people love this activity?

Simple Relaxation

When you fish, you don’t really need a lot more than a line, a hook, some bait, a sturdy boat, and a lot of time. If you’ve got all of that in the bag, then you’re pretty much set to just lounge around amidst the beauty and sounds of nature around you, so far away from the busy rush of everyday life.

Fish is Food

If you like doing things your own way, then nothing else beats the joy of hunting your own food and eating it, too, which you can in many of the top fishing spots in your area. Everything tastes better with a little bit of effort put into your work—better than going to the local supermarket for your food.

Tradition

Take part in a proud American tradition by dropping a line and reeling in some mighty catch (or at the very least, a mighty delicious lunch). Fishing is also an excellent way to bond with members of your family.
